We are more visible than ever, yet lonelier than before.

In an era defined by hyperconnectivity, where digital threads weave us together across vast distances, we find ourselves paradoxically more isolated than ever. This contradiction, the essence of our contemporary zeitgeist, inspired my artistic installation.

The piece consists of two towering chairs with elongated legs, stretching upwards as if detached from the ground. One is crafted from cold, unyielding metal; the other glows in neon, radiating presence and absence simultaneously. A man sits on the metal chair, his silhouette outlined in glowing light. Yet, from behind, his form collapses into a single, thin line, vanishing into the void.

The second chair remains empty, its silence louder than words. This work speaks to the paradox of modern existence. We are more visible than ever, yet lonelier than before. We connect through screens but struggle to hold a meaningful presence. The chairs, disproportionate in their height yet balanced in their structure, reflect the alienation of a world where relationships feel increasingly vertical, where we look up or down at each other, but rarely meet on equal ground.

The steady, warm glow of the neon conveys a sense of permanence yet fragility, much like our digital connections: always on, but lacking depth.
